Cat Translator

Est. 2021 · Or Yehuda, Israel

The team that helps cats
finally be understood.

Over a million cat owners in 100+ countries use Cat Translator every day. We started with a simple question: what is your cat actually trying to say?

Our Mission

Every meow
tells a story.

We build tools that turn the everyday mystery of cat ownership into something playful, warm, and genuinely fun. Our goal is technology that deepens the bond between cats and their humans, encouraging curiosity, play, and a closer connection every day.

How we got here

From a small apartment in Or Yehuda to over a million cat owners worldwide.

2021

Company founded

SHALAT LTD is incorporated in Or Yehuda, Israel. Work begins on the core audio-analysis engine that would become Cat Translator.

2022

First working prototype

Internal beta testing begins with real cats. The soundboard and meow-pattern features take shape, built on feline behavior research and audio signal analysis.

2023

iOS launch

Cat Translator goes live on the App Store. First reviews arrive within hours. Downloads grow organically, week over week, driven entirely by word of mouth.

2024

Android launch & 500K installs

Cat Translator arrives on Google Play. Within six months the combined install count passes 500,000. A new library of cat sound packs ships to celebrate.

2025

1 million cat owners

The one-million-install milestone arrives. New features ship: AI-generated pet portraits, an expanded behavior guide, and a richer soundboard built from listener feedback.
